After a tornado destroyed the hotel, HASTCO designed and built a new, larger hotel with plenty of eco-friendly features. As part of the eco-friendly design, HASTCO’s experts chose low-maintenance prefinished engineered wood siding with a stone veneer wainscoting. For the interior and exterior walls, they selected high-performance structural insulated panels (SIP). The panels consist of an insulating foam core between two structural boards making them stronger, more energy-efficient, and faster to build than traditional wood framing. The team also designed a wind generator capable of providing as much as 60% of the business’ electrical needs.
