Nancy Kuehler with HASTCO, Inc. was awarded the Kansas Woman-Owned Construction Firm of the Year
The Kansas Department of Commerce’s Office of Minority and Women Business Development hosted its 32nd Annual Minority and Women Business Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
The event recognized 16 companies and four individuals for their support of Kansas minority and women-owned businesses and their efforts to create opportunities. Nancy Kuehler, owner of Hastco, Inc., was the recipient of the Kansas Woman-Owned Construction Firm of the Year.
In 2005, Nancy Kuehler, along with her partner, purchased Hastco which was located in Emporia, Kansas. In 2007, Nancy was faced with a difficult decision; should she buy her partner out or close the doors. Nancy chose to get a loan through the SBA and buy out her partner then moved to Topeka in 2010.
The primary business for the company is “Negotiated Design Build Construction”. Hastco works with businesses that are looking to build in multiple locations. The Company works with businesses in all 50 states.
Hastco has received several recognition awards, but their proudest is the Master Builder of the Year Award with Star Metal Buildings for the past 4 years.
Today, Hastco, Inc. employs 19 full time employees. The Future is bright for Hastco and they hope to establish themselves across the country as the firm who “build you the right building for the right price” wherever you want to build it.
