Completed John Deere Dealership for Ag Power
Ag Power - New construction of John Deere Dealership

Ag Power, Inc.
3555 18th St. S.W.
Owatonna, MN
64,415 sq ft

With four dealership locations in Minnesota, this facility replaces their existing facility in Owatonna and also houses their corporate offices, which were previously located in separate offices in downtown Owatonna. The dealership had its beginning in 1944 as Veldman Equipment and currently employs 85 people, 43 of which will be located in the new Waseca/Owatonna location in the spring of 2012.

Roof and Wall Treatment:
Provided by Star Building, the roof is 24 ga. Double Lok, Galvalume Plus with Simple Saver insulation for R-38.  The wall panels are 26 ga. IPP II in Almond finish.

Special Features:
With the equipment getting larger and Ag Power being in the commercial Sprayer business, there was a need for larger doors in the shop area. A 40’ x 20’ electric powered rolling aircraft hanger door is installed in one end wall of the shop. The shop floor is heated with in-floor heating using used waste oil boilers, which is fueled using waste oil produced from the shop. The total building is built to meet Energy Star Standards.

Special Needs:
With moving the corporate office into this dealership facility, the owners wanted an office-look to a portion of the front elevation. In putting all of the offices on the second floor mezzanine and using brick, a 50 ft. section of the front elevation has the appearance of a two-story office building. A glass curtain wall on the second floor office looks down on the retail space of the facility.

Building size: 64,415 sf consisting of 32,000 sf of shop area; 6,930 sf of retail space; 17,390 sf of parts area. Second floor mezzanine is 15,180 sf with 5,000 sf for corporate office and training. 10,000 sf is used for storage.

End Use:
Corporate office and dealership to accommodate customers.
