HASTCO Construction has made a commitment to Building our Future Green. Green or Sustainable as it is also known have become catch phrases in today’s environmentally conscious society. HASTCO Construction was a part of this movement even before it had a name. Using recycled materials such as steel, being conscious of not over ordering materials, and saving products from landfills that could be reused at a later date has been a way of life for HASTCO since its inception.

HASTCO Construction joined the local chapter of USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) and currently has two LEED A.P.’s on staff and others in the organization who have taken classes, completed training and attended seminars to continue the learning of this ever changing wave of the future. USGBC is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding green building practices and education.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) has become the nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction, and operation of green buildings. LEED promotes sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas; Sustainable Site, Water Efficiencies, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Projects are scored by the way they impact these five areas with the products and processes that go into the construction of the facility. LEED levels of certification are Silver, Gold and Platinum, with Platinum being the hardest to attain.

Energy Star is another GREEN building practice that is becoming more standard in the commercial industry through the use of energy efficient products and practices that deliver better performance. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. EPA, the U.S. Department of Energy, and private business partners such as HASTCO Construction.

With the TEAM approach every HASTCO Construction project is planned, designed and executed with the environment and the consumer in mind. Minimizing the consumption of resources, reducing waste, using recycled materials, and personal comfort are all part of the regular project specs. Whether the customer strives for a LEED Certified, Energy Star Rated or a non-certified environmentally responsible building, HASTCO has the knowledge, experience and passion to complete the project.

Let HASTCO Construction put its dedication to the environment and superior quality and service to work on your next project.
